Following a survey and a story in the NewVision of Saturday 14th September 2007, UGANDANS love their country.
In that survey conducted among 500 Ugandans, Seventy-eight percent are proud to be Ugandans and 60% are even willing to die for their country.
The survey carried out in six districts in all regions, also shows that 58% would rather forego a better job offer abroad and stay in their motherland.
Eighty-four percent say they would buy a Ugandan product just to promote Uganda, and 71% would support the Uganda Cranes against their favourite English clubs.
On the Family Sunday Show of 16th September 2007, and in the perspective of Ugandans living out of Uganda, we asked the questions:
- What does it mean to be Ugandan
- Do you love your country Uganda?
Responses received from our callers were varied. But generally, all the callers said they loved their country a great deal.
We ask you these questions again. What does it mean to be Ugandan and on a scale of 1 to 100 percent how much do you love your country?
