But what happened to the once Pearl of Africa? Was it sold? Can it be recreated? How was it like when it was a pearl of africa? Did it really shine?

I was in Kampala in the 60s. At that time, Kampala was considered the fastest developing City in Africa south of the Sahara, apart from the South Africa. Kampala was known as Africa's London. Kampala was the shopping centre of East, West, and Central Africa. To come to Kampala was like going to London of today. Uganda's currency was the strongest in these regions.

To hear of a murdered person would send the whole village to silent mourning.

But of course Uganda is still the Pearl of Africa. Despite all the destruction in the name of democracy. With all the wildest and most outrageous dreams, that God given endowment is inexhaustible. They too will get exhausted and leave, it takes a lot of energy to steal and lie to us.
