Police chopper ready to gas Ugandans from the air! "We shall put teargas in the helicopter and cameras during riots. We shall also useit at night to light places," - Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura said. O, my God - these guys have gone mad! If the words attributed to General Kayihura are indeed his own words, then the guy must prepare for trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC). He will most definitely be invited to the ICC in Geneva one day, once the NRM regime is kaput. It is the first time I am hearing of a police force which gases innocent civilians with tear gas straight from a helicopter. We have not seen this before - may be someone should educate us if he or she has come cross such evil practice. General Kayihura has lost the plot! Actually, all these Ugandan Generals have lost the plot completely. The other day Kayihura's army counterpart, the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen.Aronda Nyakairima, threatened Ugandans by his statement that the Army would never allow any opposition leader (deemed "bad" in the eyes of UPDF) to become President, even if Ugandans voted for the person. These guys think all Ugandans are stupid and ignorant of international laws on human rights. Uganda is not far off from Congo and Sudan. And Liberia is on the African continent. Ask Pierre Bemba or Charles Taylor, or even General Bashir of Sudan. The ICC might seem to be far away in Europe, but, as we are increasingly witnessing - the long hand of international justice has arrived at Uganda's doorsteps. From now on, Ugandans, should closely monitor and record every statement, and every action, from our dear Generals. You never know when we might put that evidence to good use. Let Ugandans who are tear-gassed by Gen Kayihura's poisonous helicopter, record the action - film the bloody thing ... photograph it - even using a mobile phone. As for you, conscientious Kampala journalists, please keep your recordings of Kayihura's own voice as he triumphantly declares his deadly plan to gas innocent Ugandans from the air. Go to his press conferences - get the tapes rolling. And keep them dry and well... The ICC will do the rest. Let the Generals laugh now! Our country will have the last laugh!
