Kitalo nyo Ekya Kibirige Ssebunya 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago
First of all to all friends of bottle, we have lost a great friend in the club, to all the friends of books, Ssebunya is irreplaceable. To the farmers, we gonna miss him. To the comedians, ssebunya has been a great comedian whom we gonna miss forever, to the scientists, I believe this a big blow to all of us, to the politicians, what an orator we have missed. To fathers, oh what a great exemplary father we have lost!!
I remember Ssebunya saving my life during Amin's regime(i wont give you details on this) Actually am not going to work today, am not even taking a single sip of wine for the whole of this week, unless its unavailable, sorry unavoidable.
May Kibirige rest in peace

The Minister of State for Agriculture Dr Kibirige Ssebunya is dead.

Dr Ssebunya died this morning at Mulago Hospital where he has been admitted since mid last month after his health deteriorated.

Dr Ssebunya who was the Member of Parliament for Kyadondo North died of cancer of the tongue and throat. The main causes of cancer of the tongue and throat are smoking in addition to heavy drinking.

According to the Directory of the Eighth Parliament of Uganda, Dr Ssebunya was born on 1st May 1946.

Dr. Ssebunya was recently rushed to Mulago hospital from his home in Kagoma, Namulonge Bombo Road, on instructions of the Vice President, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya, after he visited him.

The minister had been at his home for about two months after he was brought back from a German hospital where he was taken in July.

Prior to being taken to Germany in a critical condition, he had been admitted in a South African hospital for over a month.

Dr Ssebunya was a professor of agriculture at Makerere University and head of the Kawanda Research Station. He was widely credited for the introduction of the Korno Coffee breed, which President Museveni championed in the 1990s.

He had a PhD in Plant Breeding and Cytogenetics, Masters of Science in the same field and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
