CHILD TRAFFICKING IN UGAANDA 1 Year, 2 Months ago
“In percentage terms of internal trafficking of children, Buganda is in the lead, closely followed by Acholi, Ankole and then Samia.

According to an ILO report quoted in Monitor, some children - 10 - 17-year-olds - end up in the Middle East (to prevent fatwa or jihad or intafada, no countries have been named).

So, what would a trafficked child do in the Middle East? According to a govt minister, Fred Ruhindi, children are used as aids in training horses and camels to improve on their speed.

How is that achieved?

Hon. Ruhindi: “When a horse is trained to run fast, it has to hear a lot of noise behind. So the more noise, the faster it becomes. To achieve this, a rope is fasten onto a child’s leg and tied on a horse, which then pulls it. The more noise the child makes while crying, the faster the horse runs.”

The cruel rascals!

It is no secret a large number of Middle East countries hold on to barbaric tendencies, how come no one (UN and the West especially) has blown the whistle on the inhumane activity?

But since “there is no specific law on [child] trafficking” in Uganda, the remorseless Middle Easterners and their animals will continue to gather speed at our children’s expense, undeterred.

Parliament has, in the past, introduced some time-consuming, useless and costly Bills; is it beyond it to pass a law that deals with this heinous trade or must we wait for one Honourable Member to lose a child to the trafficking pimps before we can act?

P.S. Nowadays, "tycoons" do mushroom overnight; could the proceeds of child trafficking be responsible for the prevailing nouveau riche culture?

Too many inconveniencing questions? Forgive the lugezigezi - there is no specific law against it.
