Well I have been talking to Mr. Gashumba over the Aisha issue for the last couple of weeks. The president promised as you read in other news sources but according to Mr. Gashumba, as of today no funds have been remitted yet. Aisha was due to fly out beginning of November.



We have known about Oprah's interest in Aisha for quite some time now. Why didn't we break the story? Perhaps we should have. But we can tell you the details they did not tell you since you have asked. Oprah's link was made by an American lady who lives in New York. She is a professional friend to Frank Gashumba. As of today, the Oprah team is filming in Uganda.



We promised to return with Aisha and Frank Gashumba but we wanted to return when there's something in the way of progress to communicate. We will therefore interview them again as soon as they have confirmed their travel dates.



More good news - the Visas were secured, and accommodation near the hospital was booked.

Well now that the famaous generous lady Oprah has come into picture over Aisha`s issue lets only hope that this time the poor girl will get the treatment or handling she trully deserves but don`t forget this will not go down well on the side of our country`s and actually us all, our ability to help our own people even in such a small issue or case as Nabukera`s unfortunate situation.

Nabukeera’s guardian faces fraud charges

Kampala businessman Frank Gashumba faces fraud-related charges over funds raised on behalf of Aisha Nabukeera, the Police said yesterday.

Nabukeera is a child who was allegedly burnt by her by her stepmother. She is set to travel to the US-based Shriners Children’s Hospital to undergo a skin-grafting operation.

Mr Gashumba, who is Nabukeera’s guardian and has fundraised on her behalf, is accused of obtaining Shs2.5 million from Ms Rose Lule under the false pretext that he was going to facilitate Ms Ruth Natabi’s travel to America as Nabukeera’s interpreter.
He allegedly committed the offence in July 2007 at City Complex Building, Luwum Street, Kampala.

Mr Gashumba has reportedly collected over Shs30 million towards the treatment of Nabukeera. Mr Gashumba will appear in court today
