Woman charged over chopped Penis:

THE mother who cut off the penis of a suspected defiler has been charged with unlawful wounding of a person.



Angelina Kyomugisha was arrested on June 28 for allegedly chopping Geoffrey Mugarura’s penis.



She claimed that she had found him red-handed defiling her 10-year old last-born daughter.



On Wednesday, Kyomugisha appeared before the Mbarara magistrates’ court, which granted her bail of sh300,000, not cash and her surety bonded for sh1m, not cash.



Maria Nassali, the chief of the federation of women lawyers (FIDA) was the surety.



“This case is not a case of women against men but it is a case against humanity and we need to see justice being done,” said Grade One Magistrate Matthew Tumwijukye, while granting the bail, which he noted was a constitutional right.

The state attorney did not object to the bail.

Tumwijukye ordered Kyomugisha to return to court on July 18.



After the ruling, FIDA officials accompanied Kyomugisha to her village in Rugyerera, Kashari county, fearing that the community would turn against her but to their surprise she was given a hero’s welcome.



“We wanted to gauge the mood of the villagers. We didn’t want to take her to a hostile environment but we were greeted with jubilation,” said Allen Asiimwe, FIDA board member.



“A crowd gathered in Kyomugisha’s compound on seeing her.



They ululated and called her their ‘saviour.”



A few days after the incident, the Police arrested Kyomugisha but the case took another twist when the doctor’s report said the girl’s hymen was intact.



But FIDA officials have asked the Police to investigate the case further.



Asiimwe argued that not having the girl’s hymen ruptured did not mean that she was not defiled.



“The fact that the alleged defiler lay on top of the girl is enough proof that she was defiled,” she said, adding that FIDA had taken the girl to another doctor for check up and was awaiting the results.

In my opinion, child rapists should die painfully. What does any society on earth need with such people in their midst, even if kept locked in a cage. Executing them or keeping them in prison alone does not help.



Personally I am an advocate for castration/severing the penis or removing the nutsack. And instead of keeping them in prison living of the tax payers money get them to break rocks or count the number of grains of rice in a 100kg bag of rice... or something.



Attempted rape or rape is just about the same thing. Rape is also about domination and control. In this sense it is similar to torture, which is also seen as worse than ordinary violence against people.
