Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

An opportunity to become the famous face of wookey hole – the witch of wookey. A world renowned, historical character.


The witch of wookey will meet and greet visitors and go about the everyday life of a witch – showing visitors what it was like to live in the dark ages in a cave.

Essential Skills and requirements


The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and enjoy working with people.

The ideal candidate must not be allergic to cats and be prepared to travel.

The ideal candidate will work part-time, during weekends, school holidays and special events (except Christmas day)
Must be prepared to stay overnight in the caves. Knowledge of the history of witch craft is essential.

All applicants must be able to produce a witch’ cackle – this will be a required performance at the audition.

Audition Information


Wookey Hole Caves Theatre – 28th July 2009

Please note the following:

· Please arrive at Wookey Hole Caves for 10am, ready to commence auditions at 10.30am. This will be done on a first come first audition basis.


· NO Pyrotechnics may be used when auditioning.


· Please have a 1 minute presentation act ready to perform when you are called into the audition. This MUST show us why you should be the next Witch of Wookey.


There will be a brief chance to ask questions during the audition.
