I am new to lugandan language, so I am just learning for my girlfriend, such that I can someday impress her family from UG and hopefully win them over

My gf told me that muganzi wange was vulgar when I called her that. I called her Muganzi wa instead, and she said that is also vulgar....

What do they mean? I thought they mean girlfriend, I dont see how it is vulgar....?

Or is my girl just crazy...? (this is often the possibility...)

Was just heading off to bed but when I saw this...lol...i got a second thought.I doubt if your african Queen is just crazy.It might be the way you pronounce these words that could make them sound vulgar.For example "muganzi wange " is literally my lover in luganda.But with just a mis-pronounciation say like "mugazi wange" it may sound vulgar to a certain extent literally meaning "my wide one".Hope some other members come up with a better explanation to u.Good luck with your luganda learning.
