Rubaga Division and Buganda kingdom yesterday agreed to develop and renovate the ceremonial royal mile estimated at Shs1bn.In a meeting between the Katikkiro, Eng. JB Walusimbi and Rubaga LCIII boss Peter Sematimba, it was agreed that the division coordinates with the kingdom’s tourism ministry to develop so as to attract tourists locally and internationally. Walusimbi hailed Sematimba for renewing the division relationship with the kingdom.Walusimbi said: “That site is one of those that are crucial to the kingdom so, if the division has come out to develop it into a modern site, it is the kingdom’s blessing.”


On his part, Sematimba said the area would have a fundamentasl uplift, among the things to be erected include monuments, and fountains.Sematimba said: “The development will take phases. We shall also develop the road itself. We are in a bid to support the kingdom. We have started cleaning and renovating all the markets that the kingdom gets dues from. It is our mandate.”
