The harmful practice that has put about 3 million girls in Africa at risk of serious health implications has shown a sharp drop of 36%. Speaking to journalists ahead of the International FGM day marked on the 6th of February, UNFPA country rep. Janet Jackson says this years' focus will be on engaging communities to eradicate the practice through dialogue and mutual consent.
